Rehearsals this week: 4/30 and 5/2: memorization and solo auditions

For those of you who were absent last week, you missed the amazing Justin Cormier on accordion- which will be the accompaniment for “Stout Hearted Men”

MEMORIZATION THIS WEEK-

Tuesday rehearsal I will hear:

“Stout Hearted Men” measures 17-36.

“Swahili Medley” measures 26-44

Thursday rehearsal:

“Morning Trumpet” measures 69-84.

You can always use the mp3s on the blog for help with memorization…

AUDITIONS

I will hear auditions on the solo for “When Somebody Loved Me”

Be prepared to sing any or all of it.

Rehearsals this week 4/23 & 4/25: Plan a sectional

You should have received an email this week with the names and email addresses of the people in your section. Don't forget about the sectional requirements for this class outlined in the syllabus.

NO MEMORIZATION THIS WEEK

BTW- if you miss a rehearsal when we have a memorization test, or fail a test at rehearsal, you will receive an email reminder about making up the test before our after the next rehearsal.

Rehearsals this week 4/16 & 4/18: Kedmon Mapana guest

GUEST AT REHEARSAL THIS WEEK-
Kedmon Mapana will be working with us on the "Swahili Medley" this week and helping us with some traditional Africa dance to go along with the music.  Please be on time ready to move. Below is a video of a performance of the "Swahili Medley" SPU Men's Choir performed in 2009.

STOUT HEARTED MAN CONTEST @ TUESDAY REHEARSAL-

The first person that can sound like Robert Merrill in the video below will be the winner of the 'Stout Hearted Man' contest on Tuesday 4/9/13. First prize is the Subway sandwich of your choice; the runner-up will get a Red Bull or other suitable energy drink. Check it out; his voice is the Chuck Norris of vocal masculinity:
