Homework for 11/5 rehearsal

Please note:

• Our Fall Concert is Thursday November 7th, 7:30 p.m. at First Free Methodist Church.Call time is 6:30 p.m.
• Our Tuesday November 5th rehearsal WILL NOT be in Demaray Hall. Go to Crawford Music building to the choir room 211 for rehearsal that day.
• Our rehearsal on Thursday the 7th will be at the usual time of 3:30-4:50, but we will meet at First Free Methodist Church. Don't be late.

This is the program order for our concert:

2. Gabriel’s Message
3. Veni Creator Spiritus
4. Christmas Day
5. With a Voice of Singing
6. Down Among the Dead Men
7. Poor Man Lazrus 

 

Homework for 10/31 rehearsal

Please have the following ready by next rehearsal Thursday October 31st, which is exactly one week from our concert.  Pitches for all songs should be ready by next rehearsal:

• "Gabriel's Message"- measure 56 to the end: rhythms and pitches text correct; Tenor 2- check out the pronunciation for the Basque in the beginning. I will hear that next rehearsal.
• "With a Voice of Singing"- bottom of p. 5 (meas. 58) to the end: rhythms, pitches and text correct.
• "Haec est dies"- entire second page: rhythms, pitches and text correct. (see links to rehearsal tracks from 2 ago weeks post...)
• "Veni Creator Spiritus"- the entire thing review.
• "On Christmas Day"- measure 26-end: rhythms, pitches, and text correct
• "Poor Man Lazrus"-top of p. 7 to end: rhythm, pitches, and text correct
• "Down Among the Dead Men"- entire piece: rhythm, pitches, and text correct

Homework for 10/22

It was obvious from our last rehearsal that much of the homework for our 10/15 rehearsal was not ready. So you should review last weeks homework and have the following ready for our next rehearsal:

• "Gabriel's Message"- measure 40 to measure 56: rhythms and pitches correct; not text.
• "With a Voice of Singing"- top p.5. to bottom of p. 5 rhythms, pitches and text correct (last word is "glorious")
• "Haec est dies"- entire first page, rhythms, pitches and text correct- same as last week but with gusto and right pitches.

• "Veni Creator Spiritus"- measure 22-end: rhythms, pitches, correct, not text.
• "On Christmas Day"- measure 17-26: rhythms, pitches, and text correct
• "Poor Man Lazrus"-coda to top of p. 7 end of first measure before key change: rhythm, pitches, and text correct

Homework for next rehearsal Tuesday October 15

Please have the following ready for our next rehearsal:

• "Gabriel's Message"- beginning to measure 37: rhythms and pitches correct; not text.
• "With a Voice of Singing"- beg. to bottom of p. 4 rhythms, pitches and text correct (before key change with baritone/tenor switch)
• "Haec est dies"- entire first page, rhythms, pitches and text correct

• "Veni Creator Spiritus"- beg. to measure 21: rhythms, pitches, and text correct
• "On Christmas Day"- (make sure you got a copy of the new Jacobs version of this...) beg-measure 16: rhythms, pitches, and text correct
• "Poor Man Lazrus"-beginning to top of p. 5 before coda: rhythm, pitches, and text correct
